To enhance our community’s ability to identify, innovate, and expand its geospatial expertise and resources, advance economic and workforce development, and facilitate geospatial solutions to address natural and human-caused threats to our community and nation. We will do this by –
Advancing the research, development, technical skills, and geospatial capabilities needed to build a more proficient workforce to meet growing challenges
Helping other communities capitalize on Huntsville's capabilities by bringing awareness to the professional geospatial skills, abilities, and expertise in our area
Leveraging and sharing expertise to discover, define, integrate, test, and deploy geospatial technologies and information as “Blueprint” solutions
Building a coalition of cities to help assure their respective safety, security, and sustainability well into the future
Position Huntsville as our nation’s leader in the design, development, and deployment of practical geospatial solutions through the advancement of a trained workforce and meaningful, broad, complementary, and supportive partnerships between government, industry, educational institutions at all levels, and individuals to best address the needs of our community and nation.
GEO Huntsville (a 501c6 non-profit organization) is a collaborative effort among businesses, academia and government entities in our region to support workforce growth and economic development.
We accomplish this by bringing awareness to the professional expertise that exists in the area and identifying job opportunities that continues to build the economic base. The objective is to establish the Huntsville region as a major corridor for geospatial excellence.
GEO Huntsville was incorporated as the Geospatial Huntsville Corporation on August 8, 2013 in the State of Alabama as a non-profit corporation.
