GEO Huntsville Summit 2017! is a one day summit gave participants the latest information on both new and ongoing Geospatial industry, government and educational initiatives.
Our focus was on how geospatial technology contributions are making
Communities Safe, Secure and Sustainable
Key Themes included:
- How Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and their products are integrating into the Geospatial sector
- GEOHuntsville's newly formed UAS Working Group
- GEOHuntsville's 2017 Demonstration Roadmap - A Blueprint for Safety
- Open Data for Geospatial Use and Advances in Open Source Geospatial Tools
Oakridge National Lab's (ORNL) provided a guided, hands-on training session for the Incident Management Preparedness and Coordination Toolkit (IMPACT). IMPACT is a free all-hazards planning tool for first responders. IMPACT combines simulation, visualization, and mapping into an integrated user interface and is in use by over 400 federal, state, and local government agencies and their partners.
We also held special session on GEOHuntsville's
TechVet Forum. And participants learned how the geospatial community is engaging in this revolutionary method of getting new innovations into the hands of those who need it most. An informative panel discussion with Investors, Innovators, and Funding agencies helped to promote dialog to advance funding opportunities. And a Q/A session followed.
We had a packed house -- With Standing room only!! Thanks to ALL who participated!
I hope everyone enjoyed the GEOHuntsville Summit 2017!
